Malwarebytes Virus Protection Program
Microsoft Security has come a long way in the last 20 years. In the beginning Microsoft offered no security in their Windows Operating Systems. Windows XP had an anemic Firewall and no virus protection to talk of.
I don’t know about you but I remember being infected with every kind of virus, trojan, and security breach out there. Then again those were my first days online and learning to search the web safely was something I was just beginning to do.
My reaction to all this was to install every kind of security program out there. Of course, at the time I ignored the recommendations to not have to many security programs on your computer. More than one program with the same function may actually cause conflicts in program execution; that means they may not keep you secure.
Microsoft Vista did start including some virus security protection with its Microsoft Defender program. This program is still being used in Windows 10.
Microsoft Windows 7 started getting some descent security in place with Microsoft Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials.
However, Windows 7 stopped being supported this last January 2020.
So, how does Microsoft Windows 10 stack up?
Well as someone that is online most all-day doing research, I am totally satisfied just using Microsoft’s Firewall and their Virus protection program Defender. There is nothing you have to do for these programs to work. It is just a part of Windows 10 normal operations.
I do add one additional program for catching any security violation that may end up on my computer anyhow.
That would be Malwarebytes. I download the free version which offers a free two-week trial. I take the trial and with each new update I get another two-week free trial.
Below is a video from YouTube explain how to install and use Malwarebytes. I have also included a link to the Malwarebytes download page.
Of course, if after installing and using Malwarebytes you still are having issues and you don’t feel that you can solve them on your own, I will be happy to help you with this and any issue that may be plaguing you.
