Twitter has announced some new features for users. Some of these are likely to be big hits. For example, soon when you upload images or videos, the media will not count against your 140 character Tweet limit.
Another change is that it will be easier to make a public Tweet that directly addresses another user. Similarly, when you reply to someone, their username will not count against your character limit. These changes are likely to be implemented in the coming year.
