Computer Repair Services in Milwaukee
Practical computer help from a local owner-technician who will explain your options before you spend money unnecessarily.
I’m John Zettel, the owner and technician at PCRuns. I help Milwaukee-area homeowners and small businesses diagnose computer problems, recover important files, install upgrades, improve performance, and decide when replacement makes more financial sense than repair.
You will work directly with me from the initial conversation through the completed repair.
No pressure. No obligation. Computer service is available by appointment.

How Can PCRuns Help?
Start with the service that most closely describes your situation. You do not need to diagnose the problem yourself—I can help determine the appropriate next step.
Diagnostics and System Recovery
For computers that will not start, repeatedly crash, display unfamiliar errors, or behave unpredictably. I’ll investigate the likely cause and explain whether repair, recovery, upgrading, or replacement makes sense.
Data Recovery and Backup
Help recovering documents, photographs, and other files from computers and storage devices when the data is still accessible. I can also help establish a practical backup system to reduce the risk of another loss.
Operating System Recovery
Repair or reinstallation assistance for Windows systems affected by failed updates, damaged system files, boot problems, driver conflicts, or serious software corruption.
Security and Account Recovery
Help with suspicious behavior, unwanted software, security warnings, locked accounts, and other access or security problems. Each situation is evaluated before changes are made.
New Computer Setup and Configuration
Assistance setting up a new computer, installing updates and applications, transferring files, configuring accounts, connecting devices, and making the system comfortable to use.
Maintenance and Performance Tuning
Evaluation of slow startup, poor responsiveness, storage problems, unnecessary software, update issues, and other conditions that can make an otherwise useful computer frustrating to operate.
Hardware Installation and Upgrades
Installation of SSDs, NVMe drives, memory, graphics cards, replacement drives, and other compatible components. I can also research suitable parts and explain the practical value of each option.
Laptop Screen and Hinge Repairs
Evaluation and replacement of damaged laptop screens, display assemblies, hinges, covers, and related parts when repair is practical and suitable components are available.
Computer Recycling and Refurbishment
Help determining whether an older computer can be refurbished, reused for another purpose, used for parts, or responsibly recycled after personal information has been addressed.
What to Expect
1
Tell Me What Is Happening
Call or send a message describing the computer, the problem, and whether important files may be at risk.
2
Receive an Honest Evaluation
I’ll examine the problem and explain the available options before beginning paid work or ordering expensive parts.
3
Approve the Work
You decide whether the proposed repair, upgrade, or replacement approach makes sense for your situation and budget.
4
Review the Result
When the work is finished, I’ll explain what was done and, when practical, demonstrate the result with you.
Parts and Pricing
I can research compatible replacement or upgrade parts and explain which options appear to offer the best balance of price, quality, and usefulness.
For reasonably priced parts, I may order the part and include it in the completed repair charge. For expensive parts, I will normally send you one or more purchasing links along with my recommendation so you can make the final purchase decision.
No expensive part should be ordered or major work started without discussing it with you first.
Turnaround Time
Most repairs require at least two days. Complex diagnostics, data recovery, workload, and parts availability may extend the timeline.
If the situation is urgent, tell me when you contact PCRuns. Same-day or expedited assistance may occasionally be possible, but it cannot be guaranteed.
30-Day Limited Workmanship Guarantee
PCRuns stands behind the repair work it performs for 30 days after the serviced equipment is returned to the customer. If the same problem returns because of the workmanship performed by PCRuns, I will inspect the equipment and correct the covered workmanship without an additional labor charge.
This limited workmanship guarantee does not cover unrelated or newly developed problems, normal wear, failure of another component, malware or reinfection, customer-made software or hardware changes, physical damage, drops, liquid exposure, electrical damage, misuse, data loss, or problems caused by customer-supplied parts.
Replacement parts remain subject to any warranty offered by their manufacturer or seller. Because damaged storage devices and deleted files can be unpredictable, data-recovery results cannot be guaranteed.
