Downsampling in cameras essentially will give you a smaller size but a higher quality picture. This can be used in video cameras or still photography. When you downsample, you are getting a higher quality pixel that is a combination of the colors red, blue, and green. This will result in a clearer picture, similar to the one in the video itself.
