What & Why
Old computers and electronic waste can pose environmental hazards when sent to landfills, and yet many devices still hold usable components. Our Recycling & Refurbishment service offers an eco-friendly solution: we securely wipe data, salvage working parts, and responsibly dispose of end-of-life materials. By choosing refurbishment over disposal, you not only reduce e-waste but also save money on replacement parts—plus you get peace of mind knowing your sensitive data won’t end up in the wrong hands.
Our Process
If you have an old computer and are unsure whether to repair, recycle, or reuse it, this service helps you safely remove your data and decide the most cost-effective option.
We follow a transparent, multi-step workflow that meets all environmental and data-security standards:
- Secure Data Sanitization
- We begin by creating a full backup of your important files (if desired) then perform a Department of Defense–grade overwrite or physical disk destruction to ensure complete removal of personal data.
- If your files are still needed, we can securely transfer them using our data recovery and backup service before wiping the system.
- Component Assessment & Testing
- Each device is disassembled, and critical components (hard drives, RAM, CPUs, GPUs, power supplies) undergo functional testing.
- If you’re unsure whether your system can be repaired instead of recycled, our diagnostics service can help you decide.
- Parts that pass our stringent benchmarks are separated for refurbishment or resale.
- Refurbishment & Repairs
- Working components are cleaned, tested again under load, and—in the case of enclosures or laptop bodies—refinished to remove cosmetic defects.
- Many refurbished systems can also benefit from hardware upgrades like SSDs or additional memory to extend their lifespan. Failed parts are earmarked for recycling.
- Responsible Recycling
- We partner with certified recyclers to process non-functional components (batteries, circuit boards, plastics, metals), ensuring proper recovery of precious metals and safe disposal of hazardous materials.
- Reporting & Certification
- You receive a detailed report listing sanitized devices, refurbished parts, recycled materials, and environmental credits earned. Optionally, we can provide an e-waste certificate for corporate compliance.
